Do I need to book?2023-08-20T10:32:42+00:00
  • Yes. If you do not book in advance it’s likely you will miss out.
  • Please don’t turn up without a booking or calling ahead first.
  • If you cannot see a drop down for Leader (traditionally men) or Follower (traditionally women) then it’s sold out for now.
Good news is though that we may have space available and we’re just waiting on more people to sign up to keep the Lead to Follow ratio balanced.
Do I need to come with a partner?2023-08-20T11:01:45+00:00

No. A lot of people come without a partner. Students change partners during the lesson anyway as this is the most effective way to learn. Plus it keeps it super social and fun. You can choose to stay with your partner if you like though.

What should I bring to class?2023-08-20T11:02:19+00:00
  • Feel free to bring a water bottle, energy snacks, fresh breath, an open mind ready to learn and let go of yourself.
  • We provide chewing gum, deodorant, hand sanitiser and tissues at the front door.
  • Dress between comfortable and well dressed. After all it is a social occasion.
  • Where any shoes you like but rubber soled shoes can be difficult to spin in.
  • Followers (traditionally women) don’t wear lots of loose clothing or jewellery. It will get caught up when you’re spinning.
Do you organize any social nights?2023-08-20T10:37:48+00:00

We organise an end of term social party called Salsation.

It is one of Sydney’s best social dance events overlooking Manly Beach from the iconic Steyne Hotel rooftop. Salsation starts with a Salsa lesson at 7pm with the team from Manly Salsa.
This is a great way to get warmed up and meet new people.

How can I practice outside of your classes?2023-08-20T10:47:20+00:00

You can, of course, practice at home. We film the moves we teach you at every class and upload them to our Private WhatsApp Groups which you will be able to join once you attend your first class.

We also offer monthly social dance nights, where you can practice your moves with your partner, friends and other students and instructors.

Other options currently include

  • Monday nights – Our students organise a free outdoor event called Beachata. It’s currently held next door to Manly Pavilion from 6:30pm until 9:30pm. This is a Bachata event.
  • Wednesday nights at the Ivanhoe in Manly. We do not organise this event but we highly recommend it. There is a free lesson at 7pm and free social dance from 8pm onwards.
  • Friday nights at the Collaroy. Again, not our event, but it’s also free, high energy, and really fun. Free lesson at 8pm and free social dance from 9pm until midnight.
  • Our monthly event Salsation is held on Tuesdays every 6 weeks. This is the week after each of our Salsa & Bachata Terms. Check out the details here – Salsation
  • There are plenty more parties too. Look up The Salsa Society online to find their social events in Brookvale.
  • The most comprehensive website to check out up coming events is Sydney Salsa Scene
